Screenshot help

How do I set what file type screenshots come out as? Right now they get saved as tga, which photobucket won't accept. Also how do I change type of existing screenshots?

I use I-fun viewer for this but any photo software can do it. Just load up the photo and change it by using the 'save as' option and switch it to jpg.

I use Irfan view. Make sure in your NWN you have a folder named screenshots. It works like a camera just hit the print screen. Then do as Sun suggests, open the file ,edit and set it as jpg. I have a seperate folder to put screens for posting.

Also a hint for those who do not know, If you do not want writing, maps etc in your shots, prior to snapping hit the "H" key which leaves only the image.

I have not tried photoshop. I chose irfan view because you can hit print screen and it records images without you having to stop game play. Png. or Jpg. work

FYI - jpg is a lossy format, that means actual image data is lost when saving the tga as jpg. I also recommend png since it is a lossless format and does not temper with image data but uses compression algorithms instead. For more options manipulating images try GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) - it offers Photoshop equal tools but is open source and free.

.png is great. But if I recall there are 'cleaner' formats than that right?

Nope, png is open, clean and IMHO the very best choice.

It's also the most fun to say.
"Survival of the fittest and the winnowing of the weak are Malar's Legacy. A brutal, bloody death or kill has great meaning. The crux of life is the challenge between the hunter and the prey, the determination of who lives or dies. View every important task as a hunt. Remain ever alert and alive."
