Head-models and customization.
#1
I am someone who can spend a day or two on creating a character.
It can take me several hours of searching for that 'perfect' portrait or coming up with the perfect name.
For me, that is half the fun of later playing the character. Hence I put a lot of emphasis on having the tools to do such.

Thay has since fairly recently, considering the longevity of the server, made several CEP models available.
The current clothing and item editor works without a problem and quite comfortably.
There is one thing I'm kinda disappointed in, that is how you pick the headmodel.

With the new heads you can customize lips and eyes-color.
But the problem lies in that you can only do it at creation of the character,
where it is so zoomed out you're hard-pressed to even see what you have picked.

For me this has meant that I've had to remake a few characters,
due to not being happy with the choice I made.

I want to propose that you should be able to change headmodel/color, skincolor and tattoo color after creation.
Perhaps at the clothier, but with the limitation that it is only available at the FIRST level and only then.

I'm not sure how it works scripting-wise but I hope it's not something huge.
Because for such as me, that little editing option would mean a lot.

What do you people think?

I'm not sure if that would be possible. Even with CEP, you still have to choose the tattoo color during creation. I've had the same trouble you did so I went though at one point and earmarked the heads I liked and made notes at to which tattoo color was for lip and which for eyes on each head. *shrugs* It's a process but once done, you will not wind up with red eyes and blue lips. haha As for the actual colors, that's been hit or miss for me when choosing a color I do not usually work with.

Well, I understand that you have to choose something at creation. But if clothes, weapons and ilk are editable at the clothier. I don't see why the color of skin and tattoo colors would not be it as well, not to mention head-models. I've seen this is possible in Level up modules among other things.

Was going to say I've seen it on other servers. Head models I think should only be changeable at first level, but I don't see a "salon" style area where one can magically change hair or tattoo color for a set price being too hard to implement given the number of tailoring scripts out there for models.

I agree with Sundraoi on this... if you're spending a day or two creating a character anyway, then it doesn't seem like too big of an extra step to simply create the character locally in one of those level up modules (which I tend to do anyway) and play with the colors there before you create it online in Thay.

As features go, I think the devs have a lot higher priority stuff they can be working on.

I agree with Hellstrom. I play on a world were upon each reset before you leave the hub, you can change head style. Then when you leave the hub you can go to a place and change your eyecolor and hair. This place uses more customized haks then here.

The problem occurs when all the CEP heads are not allowed ion Thay, which means that is a lot of back and fourth of finding out which ones are. Not everyone is familiar with how to use the builder properly to preview this either. Thirdly, it's easy to sometimes slip up and that in most cases means you'd have to remake the character, but now having to switch name (which you really don't want to in most cases)

For instance, I slipped up on my newest character picking the wrong tattoo colour for the lips and it looks wrong now. It bothers me a lot... (I hope somebody can help me with that :( )

I'm not saying this should be a priority, but it would be a wonderful option to simply have. I'm a perfectionist with my characters, hence I'd really appreciate a safety-net like that.

If you do not have one already get one of those starter modules, add the thay hak pak and do your design making note of what is what. Head # color#,etc. Then you will be more comfortable with the look.
