Issue... Shouldn't curing drug addiction, lycanthropy, etc, be "optional"?

In order to cure most of those "afflictions" a healer needs to be 12th level. However... what if a healer wants to use a heal spell on a recipient, but does not want to cure any afflictions in the process? Whether it is a happy addict, lycanthrope, or whatever... or if it is possibly just going to wind up being a service that one meant to charge extra for... it seems like a caster should have an option.

Possible Solution: In the !menu listings, specifically under the cleric options, druid options, and bard options... an option should be added to "toggle" the special affliction curing intent (if you toggle that you don't want to cure such, then you just get rated as < 12 level for that script, or a yes/no flag is switched), much like you can currently choose whether or not to have the flavor scripts display... whether or not to use the !htf... etc. One toggle for all seems reasonable... though perhaps some may want to be able to toggle drug addiction, but not vampirism (can that be cured?).

I can see where maybe this would be nice since these are custom features. However, like in the case of certain standard spells that have multiple effects, it could then be argued that there should be a toggle for what effects they perform as well - like toggling Dispel Magic to only affect hostiles, for example. I'll think about it some more , and your suggestion would probably be the best way to go if it is implemented, but I guess at the moment I'm not sure about opening another 'can of spell worms' to give PCs the ability to pick and choose what things a spell can affect.

Vampirism can be 'cured', but not via a spell...

*mutters* Why would anybody cure vampirism? *shakes head and walks off and taking a quick look up the sky to see how long the night will last...*

Idea for a vampire hunter PC duely recorded.
Back off! I'll smite him, I swear to God! - Kellen takes a hostage

Heh... fair enough. Think on it. Veybold happened to use a heal on a lycan, and got the message of the failure to cure the lycanthropy. I would hate to accidentally cure a PC who likes being a lycan (Then again, maybe I can use cure disease to turn npc wereboars into commoners... the better to enslave them...)

Actually, I just double checked the means of curing... and it doesn't look like it's really going to be the issue I thought it might be. I overlooked the 3 day rule (a close relation of the 5 second rule, I'm sure)...

I like Jechals way of 'curing' vampires, I mean h-ello! Vampires do not sparkle and even if they dont they does not need to be around. -walks off muttering about vampires and how Twlight sucks-
