The character I am currently trying to play.... that has been a trial and tribulation in and of itself.... is a myrkulite.
There seems to be some confusion as I was told by a player OOCly in game that Myrkul died in 1358. The website says he will die in 1368.... so currently, since the year is 1360, he is alive and kicking so to speak.
Not that selecting a dead god is bad, as I will not be a divine caster of any kind, but I would prefer worshipping a currently alive God.
In the nutshell, is Myrkul alive or not alive?

Myrkul is dead, killed during the Time of Troubles. Curious, what website you are referring to?

this one is the one I meant. I thought that I read "(until 1368)" next to Myrkul under the Pantheon thread, but I seem to be clearly mistaken.

Don't worry, there'll be a new god of the dead eventually. Kelemvor or something if my awful RL lore skill is correct.

Last time he returned as part of the very last event on that run of the server, so it will likely be the same this time around...I would be very surprised and my mind would be blown, if Thayan decidede to skip source material on this matter..
So, yes he will be back..But not in time for anyone to be a Cleric of a living Bane.
