To all of those who are or have ever been in a maternal role may you enjoy your day.
For those who mayhap have lost someone dear who was a mother or like a mother to them, as sad as this day maybe remember the light and life they brought into your world.

No...don't make your Mother cry, call her now. :P
Yes, it's on Sunday. Ani just likes to jump the gun on these things. ;)

A perfect chance for all the procrastinators to remember to send their mom flowers, or a edible food arrangement...:)

Heh...meals for Mother Day, eh? :P
I drove over to Mom and Dad's house today with the intention of "kidnapping" Mom and taking her to dinner at Athena (a nice Greek restaurant in Tyler, Texas). I arrived only to find that Mom didn't want to go anywhere because she had picked up a nasty poison ivy rash on both arms and about half of her torso, and she had only made it worse by scratching it. She had already used calamine lotion, but as anyone who is prone to poison ivy rashes (like myself) knows, calamine lotion's useless; you might as well be sprinkling tap water on the afflicted skin. So I ran back out and bought Mom a tube of Zanfel paste for $35...pretty top-dollar stuff, but Mom's worth it. The Zanfel lived up to the hype, and Mom's itching went away after about 30 seconds of rubbing it into her skin and washing it off. The itching was still gone when I left about six hours later, so the rash should go away in about one day, maybe less.
So instead of buying dinner for Mom, I brought swift ease to her suffering. I guess it was as good a Mother's Day gift as any.

Your poor mum. That must be horrible.
Pleased the paste worked for her, I hope she feels better soon.
I can imagine she thought that the best Mother day gift ever. :D

She did seem pretty pleased with the Zanfel. And there's still plenty of that paste in the tube, good for...oh, her next ten or fifteen encounters with the dreaded leaves of three, if the enclosed pamphlet didn't lie. ;)
Of course, my Dad's immune to those accursed poison plants, so I'll have to think of something creative for Father's Day next month, I suppose.
