[Gatalis]

Occasionally nwn crashes and refuses to believe the server is alive when I pull it back up until I've restarted my computer. Does anyone know a way around this (restarting my computer every time is a pain)?

(Also, apologies to the folks I was with, passing out on my keyboard and just got a text from my employer about my schedule being changed tomorrow).

I've had that happen. Usually don't have to restart computer, just closing and restarting the game does it.

Had that happen too Gatalis. I can't get the game back until I have restarted the computer. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated. :D

First off, which operating system(s) are you three running?

I usually direct connect using the following command on a Windows 8 machine:

"C:\Program Files\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe" +connect 65.101.102.74:5121

That way, you don't even have to wait for the server list to refresh. Just create a shortcut on your desktop.

Already got that and use it all the time. But still happens occcassionally.

Sounds like your game is crashing but still using the the port 5121. A way to see if this is happening check the task manager to see if NWNMAIN.EXE or NWN.EXE is still running. If this is the case, albeit, a pain, stop it and then try again. Still may be easier than rebooting.

Running under windows 7 myself, have the direct link (I don't bother with booting up NWN, even have the "fix" so it skips the gamespy master server).

Tried looking under task manager yesterday when it happened, nothing I could find (I'll have to check under the actual executables to see if it's running still next time).
