Seizure!
#1
Word spreads like wildfire –
The zulkirs, in an effort to fund their new experiments and projects have ordered the seizure of all treasure in vaults, inn chests, temples, and anywhere else in Thay. The thousands of dead adventurers in their land since the beginning of the Salamander War, and the unexpected increase of a number of magical items to the realm have proven too tempting to pass up. Those who wish to retain their property are encouraged to either convert it to coin or carry it on their person.

-------------------------------------

OOC - To explain in real-life terms; the database containing all the persistently stored contents of Thay has grown rather large and has started causing a little bit of lag whenever a persistent storage container is opened.

Since the NWN databases cannot be shrunk (only deleted and/or rebuilt), this storage database will be deleted on March 31 at 9:00 PM CST (GMT -6) to remove stored items for dead and/or inactive characters.

I understand that some of you may have difficulty narrowing down all the stuff you accumulated, however the use of backpacks and boxes will help increase your carrying capacity during that period. But after the database has been purged, items can be placed back into storage and we won’t need to go through this process for at least another year or more (real-time).

Also, please note that this *will* have the unfortunate side-effect of removing persistently stored items from individual’s houses as well. Played-owned merchant inventory and gold stored in the Vault system will not be affected however.

I will also post a notice similiar to this one in-game as well.

If you have any questions or concerns on this, please post here.

Yikes - My Tavern!

Can i at least get a storage box that can store ALL of my tavern's furniture?
(As I am already loaded with stuff from the bank!)

Does this include gold and items stored with player owned merchants as well?

Mmmmmm so this means things stored on horses or other persistent storage objects have to be cleared out or they'll be lost?

Yes, good point heather - horse and slave storage will be wiped out as well, so make sure you check and clear that before March 31.

Ahku, to clarify what I should have said - the furniture in your house will remain, it's just that the contents of any chest or storage container in the house will be wiped out. The day before the database wipe, you'll either want to load up on backpacks and store those contents in the backpacks on one of your characters, or sell it. Or, if you have room on your merchant, give it to them.

Again; gold stored in the vault and merchant inventory will not be affected by this database wipe.

bwahaha... Veybold had 30 or 40 chunks of roast bear/pork/venison in his saddle bags, and another dozen in the temple, and several more in his vault, not to mention a half dozen on his person... he was certainly not gonna be missing any meals.

I can only imagine what all has been stashed in the chests in the citadel...

Thanks for the warning time, too.

I think the wipe finally went through now? So everything is safe to put back now?
