RDD

Is there a limit to using this class? I'm just curious about this because... you know... RDD bonus and immunities. Overpowered. Like that.

In order to achieve Prestige classes you need to have a certain amount of notoriety, or be granted access to the PrC by a DM. The PrCs are actually broken into 3 groups depending on how rare or difficult to attain we have determined they should be in Thay. RDDs are, if I recall correctly, in the top group, which means it takes the most notoriety to attain it through the system without DM intervention. As of yet, I have not seen a RDD since we went live, but I do know of a couple PCs that have the notoriety to take it without DM intervention.

You can find more info on the PrC requirements for Thay here: http://www.thaypw.org/showthread.php?tid=4

Sorry about necroing REALLY OLD posts, but is this still a thing, with the PrC requirements? The link is broken.

Could be nice to know.

I believe only RDD, Shadowdancer, and possibly Purple Dragon Knight(?) currently have notoriety requirements, and also that the DM granting function no longer exists.
Mirella Locke - Callisto

Olukon Thrune - Bookworm priest

Hargrid Beld - Paladin of Hoar

Lyta Csndrila - Fire Woman(On hold)

Hmm. The link works for me, although the post has outdated info. To clarify; only RDD and Shadowdancer have notoriety requirements anymore since they are the primary (only?) ones that seem to be taken more for powergaming purposes than anything else.

I do have to say it was interesting this has come up now as the staff actually just started talking about how to provide a little more balance to these, or improvement to other less-played PrCs, with the next hak update. But when the time comes to get serious about 'nerfing' RDD and SD, I will solicit community input. More to come on that in time...

This is good timing, because even though I haven't been around as much lately, I've been considering rolling up a new third character now that my vampire has been destroyed (and is presently cooling her heels in Oblivion). I've already done some running around with the concept of this character (a ninja from the long-standing Konishi clan in Kozakura, hired by merchants in the Shou Lung empire and sent westward into Thay to keep tabs on the Tuigans), and I figured that, for want of an actual Ninja class, some mixture of Rogue, Monk and Shadowdancer might be the best fit.

So at minimum, there's a Notoriety hurdle before taking Shadowdancer. Has any cooldown period on HIPS been imposed yet? Some servers have already added cooldown periods to prevent HIPS-spamming.

Yes, a 6 second cooldown was implemented years ago. Although I have not tested in since about that time, but I'm just assuming it still functioning as intended.

It's not working right. Tested it and Daeris can blink.

To clarify - I believe the script is setup so the 6 second cooldown is just when in combat. so after making a sneak attack or whatever, you have to wait until the next round to go into stealth mode again.
