[Download] Required Files to Play
#1
The Thay PW uses its own hakpak, exclusively compiled to enhance the playing experience and setting immersion with high quality content. This post holds the link to the current required files needed to play on the Thay PW. Use either the Automated Installation or Manual Installation method described below to download them.

Lastest Hak Update: May 30, 2015
Latest Hak Version: v1.0

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Automated Installation of Required Files
The installation of content using this method is quite simple, and it is recommended you use Internet Explorer when attempting to download any files from the Thay PW's OneDrive -

1. Click this link: Thay Custom Content Installer.exe
This will take you to the Thay PW's OneDrive where you will see the self extracting Thay Custom Content Installer.exe file (247 MB). Right click on it and select "Download".

2. After it is downloaded, double-click on Thay Custom Content Installer.exe to run it*. This will place the Thay PW hak named thaypw_1.0.hak in your C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\hak folder and the tlk file named thaypw_0.55.tlk into your C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\tlk folder. If neither folder exists, this installer will create them within the C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\ folder.
*In order to run this file on newer versions of Windows, you may need to right-click on the Thay Custom Content Installer.exe, then go to Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab and put a check in "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP", and put a check in "Run this program as an administrator".

3. That's it, all done! You're now ready to Direct Connect to the Thay persistent world at 65.101.102.74:5121

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Manual Installation of Required Files
If you know how to manually extract the hak and tlk files to where they need to go, or want smaller files to download, here are the individual downloads of the Thay PW's required files -

Thay PW Hakpak 1.0.7z - This is a 137 MB compressed 7z file which requires a program like 7-Zip or WinRAR to open so you can extract the thaypw_1.0.hak within it to your hak folder
Thay PW TLK 0.55.tlk - This is a 194 KB uncompressed thaypw_0.55.tlk file you can simply download and move to your tlk folder
"It's 106 miles to Bezantur, we got fresh horses, half a cask of Rhul, it's dark... and we're wearing Lug's Skull." "Hit it."

Several years ago the Neverwinter Nights Client Extender (NWNCX) was created. It is a set of files that modifies the player-side game client software. NWNCX is designed to improve the base game for players, and one I recommend everyone download and use.

Please note though that NWNCX is not necessary for the Thay PW, except in these cases:
1. If you wish to create a new Cleric that has the Luck, Chaos, or Law domain
2. If you wish to create a new Paladin that has the Detect Evil ability
3. If you wish to create a new Ranger that has the Tracking ability
4. If you wish to put skill points in Control Shape, Disguise, or the Craft skill upon initial character creation

Those three Cleric domains, the Paladin Detect Evil ability, and the Ranger Tracking ability are custom content added for the Thay PW which are not included with the original game. In addition, the three skills listed are renamed via Thay's custom content from their original implementation in NWN (they were originally the three NWN crafting skills).

So in order to see the above custom content changes at character creation you must use the functionality that NWNCX provides to pre-load the Thay PW’s custom content before you create a new character. To do this, just download the NWNCX package from the link above and then extract the nwncx_connect.dll and the NWNCX_Loader.exe files from it to the C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN folder. Then launch the NWNCX_Loader.exe and connect to the Thay PW.

Note that when the nwncx_connect.dll file is in the NWN folder, using NWNCX to login to any NWN server that has this custom content pre-loading enabled will result in a noticeable delay when waiting for your list of characters to populate when you login. This is occurring because the server’s custom content is being pre-loaded. As for Thay, after you have created your new character I recommend removing the nwnx_connect.dll from your NWN folder to avoid the ‘lag’ that occurs waiting for your character list to populate whenever you login to the server.
