Lycanthropy

When I had a werebat they seemed to be similar to what one would expect from a werewolf, as in small even boosts to all physicals, though maybe not as much as a werewolf.
Mirella Locke - Callisto

Olukon Thrune - Bookworm priest

Hargrid Beld - Paladin of Hoar

Lyta Csndrila - Fire Woman(On hold)

And werebats are so cute, too. It's all about the big, floppy wings. :D
Corella d'Margo, arch-liar
Wyren Caul-of-Amber, alchemist
Tirah Het-Nanu, courtesan

Thought it was just a full moon thing but apparently it's all-around thing. Would've been nice to know under the server updates that there's no longer a fortitude save to resist Lycan bite attacks even though NPCs get one. Will be carrying around a few dozen Belladonna now to deal with sewers and such with Lycans in them.

Sorry for the double post.

Say your character is human. In the case of notoriety, does the system still treat them as human for determining gains/losses in notoriety, or are they listed as a non-human?

You are listed as a shifter. My characters Rimeth and Cara were briefly infected and the shifter overode any other race.

They got cured quickly so I really would not know the long term effects I have heard from sone others who played lycans and were in factions that it indeed affected their notoriety levels and advancement but they can elobarate if they wish. :)

I had Norris afflicted by Lycanthropy he was a legion and he could not advance until he was cured! Therefore a Werecreature should be used as a general mercenary not if you wish to join a faction :P
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers;
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

This is not correct. You can advance in a faction as a subrace or template PC, such as a lycan. You just receive notoriety at the lowest rate possible as one of those PCs. It seems more likely that it was a coincidence when you were healed of the lycan curse that you then received, shortly afterward, enough notoriety to advance in your faction.

A person aware of their lycanthropic condition may attempt to change as often as they like at night, with one exception. If they attempt to resume their humanoid form, they only receive one chance. If they fail, they must remain in animal or hybrid form until dawn. Changing to animal or hybrid form ruins the character's armor or clothing unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.

Once in lycan or animal form, an infected PC can infect other PCs and humanoid NPCs as well. Several lycan bonuses are applied to the transformed lycan PC, however while in this state the character may not equip any items, nor may it rest until it is back in humanoid form. In addition, most NPCs will be hostile to the transformed PC as well.

I have a question about the last sentance of the first paragraph in this section. Can you please clarify, is the Fortitude save rolled against the armor/clothing's own Fortitude, or is it rolled against the PC's own Fortitude Save? If it is rolled against the item's Fortitude, is there a way to improve the Fortitude of an item using the Enchantment Forges?

Also, the second paragraph states a lycan in hybrid or animal form cannot equip any items. Does that mean things such as amulets, rings, helm, boots, belts, cloaks and gloves become unequipped when the character transforms? Or does it mean that if they weren't already equipped before your character transformed you won't be able to equip them while in transformed state?

The save roll is against the item's own fortitude. There is not a way to improve the fortitude of an item at the enchantment forge, but I'll probably change this process in the near future to use the base AC of the armor/clothing (full plate will be tougher than clothing) and possibly the overall price - fully enchanted/magical +3 AC armor/clothing will be tougher than non-enchanted armor/clothing of the same type. But any change will still not guarantee that maxed out magical full plate will always survive the transformation.

The only items that get unequipped are weapons and armor. Consider it a polymorph that merges any other items' properties into your lycan form. When in lycan form though you cannot use any item and you cannot equip any item.

So rings, amulet, cloak, gloves, boots and helmet.
The Armor and Weapon slot is not combined.

Does the shield classify as armor like it does for other wildshape?

Sounds like a lycan is better off wearing tear-away suits :P
