Problem Description - I made a third character and when I log in the server says I already have three. It lists one of my other characters (Vylaith Danastiesti) twice. Then it asks me to delete on of my other characters.
Steps to Recreate - I simply re-attempt to log with Garreth Shayd and then the problem recurs.
Expected Results - I should be able to log in with my third character without a problem.
Actual Results - I log in and then I can't play the character as the server says that I already have 3, listing Vylaith twice.

What problems did you encounter when trying to create the character that is listed twice? Do you have multiple CD Keys you're using? Do you have multiple login names?

I don't believe I encountered any problems with the character that is listed twice. The only thing I can think of is maybe I logged in with him after I created him and then immediately had to log out or something like that. I certainly did not create him, delete him and then recreate him.

I do not have multiple CD keys or multiple log in names.

Have you deleted any characters prior to creating this third one? If so, do you remember the order in which you created all your characters?

EDIT: Pretty sure you deleted the first character you created here, correct? If so, I reviewed the code this morning and I think I understand what has happened - the deletion of someone's first character that was created, then logging in with another existing character appears to be causing this duplication problem. This should be fixed with tomorrow's server reset, and you'll get an in-game message that an "an error has been corrected" when you login with one of your other characters once this is in place. After that you should be able to login with a new/third PC.

Moving this here for a public explanation if anyone has a question as to why they may receive the message "OOC: An error regarding the total number of active PCs you have has just been corrected. If you are trying to login with a new character, login with that character now/again and it should be properly marked as an active character for your account."

This message will occur based on CD Key, so any login name and/or character you choose to login with will correct this issue if you have deleted a PC that was, at one point, marked as your first-of-three active PCs.

I'm having the same issue. At first I thought it was because I'd created my character, deleted her, and created her again all in the same day so perhaps the script got confused. After providing this information, it seemed fixed briefly. I was able to play my new character for the night. The next afternoon when I tried to log in, I got the error again, counting my other character multiple times.

I played my other character for awhile then decided to try again and it worked. I do not recall a reset happening in that time, but I did step away for about 45 minutes so it could have reset in that time. I played my new character for the rest of the evening and had no problems logging back into her even after I crashed.

Then this evening I tried to log in and I was bugged again. I'm trying to find a pattern but don't seem to be able to figure one out yet. I tried logging into my bugged character (the one counted more than once) and then into my new one, but that didn't work.

Unfortunately, I'm encountering the same issue again. I deleted one of my characters to roll over the experience to a new one. Now I can't log in with my character, Stried Zurshar, as the server says my account is still associated with the other character I deleted. The character I deleted was Mordoch Lightbane.
