Err ... I picked a voiceset for my character that seemed a nice fit.
Only it makes my char shout language that is fairly incriminating IG. I had no idea that my char would start shouting without my express instruction (e.g. emotes).
Is there a way to permanently silence my character unless I explicitly instruct it to say something (through an emote)?

There's no way in-game, you **might** be in luck if Balanor smiles upon you to have it manually changed. You'd need to know which sounds to change it to though (Don't think it can be
"nothing")
(If you created a test character with the desired voiceset, that's probably the best way to reference which one you wanted. Again, no promises though)

I haven't announced it yet, but Body Models in the Palace of Thay and in the Character Lab were recently setup to allow people to change their voices through them, as well. So if you can convince a DM to jump you to the Body Models in the Palace of Thay, you can change your voice there.

Oh nice! Poke me (or another DM) in game this weekend and we can get your voice changed Aviel.

Hi, it worked
Unfortunately I couldn't be on this weekend either, but I found time today. Fortunately DM Ninja was kind enough to port my char (not Aviel) to the change shop.
Now it can be a good deal less paranoid about whom to travel / party with due to fact that the voiceset is no longer dropping big hints about her IG.
