Journal of a future Dreadknight
#1
I am a son of Thay, born in Thaymount, Son to a High Imperceptor of Bane, and a Red Wizard of Thay. The Delrin line is one of the oldest families. We date back to the early Netherese, proud and strong. Always do we survive. Always do we triumph. A Delrin is self made though, we do not ride the coat tails of our predecessors. Thus at eighteen we are cast out from the household to fend for ourselves and make a name. Only on making the name can we return, unless a serious crisis dictates otherwise.

I have chosen my path, even against fathers wishes. The path of a Thayvian Knight. Perhaps in time to a Zulkir, or if it doesn't work out, perhaps I will command a Legion of my own. Or become my Sisters personal First Knight when she begins her own temple. Its hard to say yet. Though I believe my sister will go very far. She is ambitious, disciplined, determined and has a great head on her shoulders. Perhaps in time she will become more then father ever was. Hard to say.

Family History - High Nobles of Halruaa moved to Thaymount

Great great great Grandfather - Lucius Delrin - Lich
Grandfather - Nicholas Delrin - Red Wizard - Conjuration
Grandmother - Vanessa Delrin - Red Wizard - Illusion
Mother - Varia Delrin- Necromancy Red Wizard
Arthur Delrin - Father - Formerly Arthur Forge of Calimport - Married into the family
Son - Arthur Delrin Jr - Sergeant of Tyraturos Legion seeking to become a Thayan Knight
Daughter - Rama Delrin - Acolyte of Bane in Tyraturos

The family dates back to -3830 DR before the records are lost, the family records starting with the rise of Netheril with their long gone ancestor, a prodigy of the rise of Necromancy. Few know much of the line from those days except that even then the family stood in high prominence. Noble titles long earned for their magic prowess they often strutted through Halruaa proud of their titles. The family is said to be filled with eccentric wizards, mostly favoring the ancestral study of Necromancy and the darker arts, seeking lichdom and greater power. With the seats of power quickly growing the family became obsessed with station, titles and names throughout Thay and began watching the seats of Thaymount which is highly coveted.

The current family resides in Thaymount having gained enough name and title to move their, though not officially having earned the right to call themselves High Nobles of Thaymount though it has yet to deter the current generations children from claiming such. Young Arthur and his sister Rama were cast outside the house by their father at the age of 18 to begin their own claims to their namesake, the Delrin rule that no Delrin hangs from the family name and must prove their worth. For now Jr spends his time under the Legion working his way to Knighthood, while his sister dutifully takes after her father serving the Clergy of Bane, eventually to open her own temple.
