Qu'unte Character progression

*for the DMs* Qu's life on the surface has not been easy to adjust to. Having fled the underdark in secret to avoid all the cruelty pain and suffering he had seem he arrived with much struggle at the surface. His troubles were not over as he desperately found his footing in Thay. He befriended a man named dusk and became close with him. one of the few people in Thay he could call friend so far. A day ago Dusk was taken by a slaver just as Qu arrived to save his life. Just as his blades reached the slaver they used portal magic and vanished. Having witnessed this and thinking on his slave and selling off others over his life the pain of losing dusk finally struck Qu. He intendeds to free his slave and work him him as more of a loyal companion and will never again take a slave or sell one. This put him into deep thought about cruelty pain and life on the surface and what it may mean to him. Then Qu recently met and then had a long conversation with Celia Tir'eine in the tavern in the aftermath of the events with the Tharchion. He revealed to her his identity and asked her mercy to not kill him. she did not trust his words as expected but he allowed himself to be vulnerable to her and asked her to mentor him and teach him a more moral path. Lost on the surface Qu is deeply considering taking a better path and showing more kindness and less cruelty and murderous behavior, however without a guide for now he will have to walk that path alone and make companions where he can. Celia said she would be watching him for better or worse and if he presented himself as a liar she would certainly remove him as a threat. For now Qu hopes to continue learning how to be a better person but is very stuck in his old ways and traditions. The loss of his friend Dusk and his conversation with Celia wear heavily upon him as well as the fear his Identity may be revealed.

Traveling the surface more Qu has gained the trust of ralphie over the course of many adventures. On a slope overlooking a river on one of their woodland adventures ralphie inquired about the drow out of curiosity. Overwhelmed by the trust ralphie has shown him Qu decided to reveal some information about the drow and asked him a series of questions. Satisfied he would not be killed he revealed himself to be, indeed, drow. Ralphie seemed not to be bothered by this as he seen his actions not his race as the tell of his character. Still struggling to adjust to the surface and make allies Qu found himself in an interesting position on an adventure to the underdark to assist the temple of lolth. Having met the zolands previously and made allies with them he agreed to come aid the adventure but kept his identity hidden while within the city as he is a fugitive. Coming back down did not fill him with the warmth of home one would expect returning to their birth place. Instead it filled him with a sense of dread and remorse for not having left sooner. Seeing the workings of his people again reminded him of exactly why he left in the first place and solidified his steadfastness to commit himself to a life on the surface. Enemies below and above he walks a careful dangerous path. Struggling to make friends and yearning to show his face and be accepted. The reality he has resigned himself to is that day may never come and he must choose his allies wisely if he is to survive. Planning to continue his deeds and look forward to a path that may one day grant him redemption his teachings below has taught him to always remain on guard. Torn in many directions he hones his skills and continues his search for a purpose on the surface other than mere survival.

Qu has met Bael'Vanrae. They adventured a bit in the tombs in bezantur and had a chat about elven culture and life. Again Qu risked his death by revealing his nature to her. She was more receptive than expected and qu believes he's possibly found a mentor on surface elven culture. Taking his first reverie with her in the inn hes taken his first steps to learning his ancient elven past and is now even more steadfast to a life of freedom friendship trust and honor, things that just a few months prior that would have certainly gotten him killed and may yet still in Thay. Yearning for the close bonds surface dwelling elves seem to keep and the trust they seem to have in one another has given Qu hope for his life on the surface.

Another adventure! Meeting with Dylaan, Ralphie, Myth, and Chanti Qu took an adventure into the crypts of nethjet. A hefty haul of gear and coin was made and his bonds with this group has grown. Continuing to practice the elven reverie taught to him by Rae he is seeking ways he can do more good on the surface without revealing himself. Qu now has a trust for Dylaan however he is not ready to reveal himself to him yet. He is hopeful to encounter more elves on the surface and learn more of their culture and ways of living. He is beginning to consider if shar was just playing with him feeding on his loss and desperation and his allegiance to the goddess and its temple are beginning to wane.

In the tombs of kepetur Ralphie and Qu found another clay statue. The ones master gammel has been researching. It seems this cult is spreading far and wide across Thay.

Qu has forsaken shar as his god and left the temple of shar in disgust. Turning away from his past and leaving that part of his life behind for good. He is hopeful he can find a more reasonable life on the surface and do some good in the world as much as a drow on the surface can without getting killed in the process. Ever ready to kill those that seek his death and tentative on alliances with others he is slowly learning the life of a surface elf and leaving behind much of his dark past.

Qu, having given up his past life in sum total, has been seeking out better ways of living. He cast his old slave shackles into the sea cementing his vow to never take a slave ever again. Recent events have brought him close with a druid that has been assisting him in doing some good in the world and in remembrance of dusk his task have been personally fulfilling. Continuing his close ties with ralphie and wandering the wilderness attempting to become close to the surface world. (mostly at night). Hes taken to slaying lycans wherever they may be found and putting them to death and has been not killing any animal creatures he finds as he did in the past instead subduing them and fleeing leaving the animal none worse for wear hoping to slowly rebuild his reputation with the forest and perhaps one day visit again and make good on his mistakes there previously. Additionally he recently assisted a red wizard apprentice and a legionary known as sarana with some tasks hoping to gain some local respect and good faith with those in power even though they are still young and rising in the ranks.

Qu has met with Farlan, a man needing his aid and having tasked him with helping those in desperate need for aid. Farlan led qu to a room in benzatur without much talk and qu was suspicious. upon entering the room and a short talk an assassin appeared and qu thought his instincts were correct! he quickly killed the assassin and pumped farlan for the reason though it appeared that he was simply followed by the assassin. after completeing the tasks and atoning for some of his past sins at the church of illmatter qus past burdens feel a little lighter. he felt he may have done some true good this day and wont soon forget it.

Qu has been assisting a paladin of torm hunting lycans and taking mentor-ship from her. Her presence and guidance has been assisting Qu find his center. Focusing more on his daily reverie and meditations hes slowly becoming more at peace with himself. Though not yet redeemed for his past life and sins it seems he is content with his progress and meeting people who have assisted him. Fighting and blades is what he knows best and fighting is giving him his moments of clarity. Focusing more on that and his training he has set his mind to becoming a legendary swordmaster, perhaps so strong that being a drow with his reputation would be enough for him to freely reveal himself in public one day. Perhaps as a Gladiator.... no.... willingly becoming a slave? surely that is not the best way.... perhaps other organizations will cross his path and he will find a true purpose beyond simple violence and honing his craft, but for now it is enough. Having forsaken his goddess Shar he is also adrift in spirit as well. paying lip service to illmater and Chauntea as well as Tymora he is waiting for a sign that perhaps one will take notice of him or guide him towards their worship. He also recently broke into Mythrell'aa's tower and had slain every thrall and beast inside the entire building. He took the opportunity to free anyone he could find. Having changed his cloak and hood and spoke no words to identify him. Then he killed the newcomer thralls that attempted to re-inhabit the Tower. He then left a single card upon the floor a calling card. The Empress. Having felt a satisfaction at some of their freedom and the slaying of evil creatures he then rested and meditated on his actions. Very chaotic and yet.... he felt satisfied.

Having met Katja the mute Hadush the gladiator and Dylaan a fighting man with a mysterious past, Qu continues his adventures on the surface. He's taken a liking to Katja even though she cannot speak, somehow its endearing to him. Having considered his actions and his adventures Tymora has called to him and he now answers and prays to her for favor fortune and victory. He is becoming closer friends with Talvass as well, offering to invest into his business pending a sit down with Ralphie. His time spent with a paladin of torm has finally helped him shake his past life and he is steadfast to his determination to a new lifestyle here on the surface. Not a good man by any stretch of the mind but eager to make friends and attempt trust, a thing that would mean death in his past. So far it has worked out well for him and he is optimistic in his continued life and adventures in Thay. Perhaps one day he will return home and attempt to show others the way, though thatd be a great risk. He has no doubt many other males feel the same as him and not all follow Lolth blindly.
