For anyone that visits the
Neverwinter Night Vault site, you may occasionally notice an ad for the Thay PW at the top of its homepage. I feel this is a great way for some free advertising since that since is probably one of the most commonly visited NWN sites (beyond the NWN Wiki site) since Bioware shut down the old NWN boards.
In the past, a previous artistic player created three ads which we voted on, and have now all been displayed on the NWVault site at some point -

Since we have 'run out' of ads (they need to be replaced after six months/times they are run), I would like to put a call out to any artistic individuals in the community who are interested in creating art for our NWVault ad. The preferred size is 274 pixels width x 157 pixels height, but that is the only restriction.
Anyone interested in helping out?

What are the rules for using somebody elses artwork for your own ads?
Slapping some text on a couple of images in itself shouldn't be too hard. :)

True - and that's what I did with the very first ad we had. It was basically just my avatar picture here with 'Thay - Realm of the Red Wizards' splashed across the top of it. Ultimately though I was hoping for something a little more...er...original. New/unique art, and so on. The people at the Vault don't seem too concerned with copyright protection on the ads, but just in case I think something original would be nice.

I've got a few already made - my question is, can they be animated? Simple .gifs ?? I haven't seen any that were but I'm not entirely sure.
BTW - Email them or post them here?

That's a good question about the animated .gifs or whatnot. I will e-mail BeyondThePale and see what he has to say on that. All the ads I have seen on the NWVault site are not animated, so I'm thinking the answer may be 'no', but I'll check just to be sure. I'm pretty sure the format doesn't matter too much for the non-animated versions - jpegs, gifs, bmps, whatever. I posted the only guidance the ad sumbisison form on the NWVault has (the size limit).
You can either e-mail them to me, or post them here for everyone to observe. We'll probably do another 'favorite ad art' post if there is more than just one submission.

Hrm... I'm going to assume the answer is no then. I'll go into the files and remove the animated portions, but save a .psd file in case the answer turns out to be yes. I'll bulk email them to you and you can post them here for a poll.
I didn't like the way the font turned out when you posted it on the vault... but was there any specific requests to a slogan or something?

No - no requested slogans or anything. Officially our name is 'Thay - Realm of the Red Wizards' (because when I went to create our first forums on the NWN bioware site someone already had just 'Thay'), but I wouldn't think you'd even need to do the entire title as long as 'Thay' is somewhere on the ad.

Ok, I have to run errands very quickly but the changes to the animated layers should be over and done with quickly. I'll email what I have to you (4 of them) tonight around 8pm EST. If there's something amiss lemme know so I can make changes to them.

Er... when I said 8pm EST I meant close to 11pm EST because I had to redo two of them and decided, on a whim, to go to an all-you-can-eat because 'someone' wasn't in the kitchen making me a MEAL like their marital duties state... XD
