The skies rained fire, the earth shook, a Red Wizard casting a simple Light spell in the marketplace disappeared in a flash of light. An awakened white dragon circled the city of Bezantur and attacked the docks in a fit of rage - or confusion.

And magic everywhere appears to have gone awry.

The Time of Troubles is upon Thay!

Priests throughout the land received visions of their god in danger. A few admit they no longer seem to be in the planes or able to communicate with them. Others say the gods now walk Faerun as mortals – and that they have seen them!

But what could have caused such an inconceivable disaster?! And more importantly, how and when will things ever return to normal? Before it could be said ‘only the gods know’. But if the gods are truly mortal now, how can they, and who will save Thay and the rest of the world from disaster?

Priests see visions of their gods ascending to their rightful place in the heavens (or hells!), and temple faithful spread the news -

The stolen Tablets of Fate were returned to the overgod Ao, who made the gods mortal for neglecting their duties and worshippers. All has been made well now – such as the full and expected use of magic being restored!

While the full affects of the Time of Troubles are not yet known, much has changed. At the moment they are only rumors, but it is whispered that some gods were actually destroyed during this tumultuous time. Gods such as Bane, Bhaal, Myrkul, and even Mystra.

Only time will reveal all that was saved...or destroyed.
