Good day everyone!

I am very excited to announce that the Thay PW has a sparkly, brand new server all ready and waiting to run it! Without getting into too many details, the old server officially died several weeks ago (RIP, my friend) and we’ve had the PW running on a temporary home which appears to have considerably reduced the server-side lag we were experiencing prior to the move.

Therefore, at 12:00 PM CST today, I will be taking down the PW for about 10-20 minutes to make the necessary server changes and transfer the databases, your characters, and the PW itself to its new and permanent home. I will post here when the server is down and again when the server is back up. I appreciate your patience through this transition. I truly believe that at the end of this we will continue to have a server functioning as efficiently as possible to reduce server-side lag.

Woohoo! Awesome news, thank you Thayan for fronting what had to have been a great cost to yourself, to provide enjoyment for who are essentially a bunch of strangers.

My thanks Jeff - and it was my pleasure. NWN is something I greatly enjoy and I'm glad others seem to enjoy (at least part of) my vision and work as well, so I am glad to do it.


As of right now, the server is back online and running on the new machine. I see it is showing in the Gamespy list for me, but if anyone has problems connecting though please post...

You are all quite welcome!

I also see that I forgot to mention the huge part that KTA played in this by selecting the necessary kick-butt hardware for the machine. Also, during a staff meeting in regard to getting a new server, Vortar, Carcass, and Sundraoi also provided their input and moral support as well. So I'd just like to send a thanks to them as well.
