Posted on the gates of the Bezantur Central Citadel is a proclamation that reads:

Allies and Inhabitants of Bezantur,
We are in the midst of a dangerous time in Bezantur’s glorious history. While Thay’s allies of Salamanders and Efreet take the towns of the Wizard’s Reach for the glory of Thay, we must remain vigilant of any treachery on their part - or treachery from the enemies of Thay!

Therefore I, Mari Agneh, tharchioness of Bezantur, call upon all mercenaries gathered in our glorious city to assemble in one weeks time ((Sunday, January 11)) to partake in an exercise meant to prepare us should the worst come to pass and we must defend the city herself. Gather at the gates of the Central Citadel and show us who among you are the best and most reliable we can call upon -and pay well- to perform future services. Prove your abilities, and be rewarded.

Regardless of your feelings toward those who rule us, your peers, or Thay’s allies or enemies, join us and perhaps win some respect - as well as catch the eye of those who may propel you to greater things while you yet remain free and alive in Thay.

This event will begin at 6:00 PM CST (1800 GMT) on Sunday, January 11.

...at the gates of the Central Citadel. After waiting some hours the first citizen and mercenaries become frustrated and start to leave. A few of the bolder people begin shoving the gateguards, calling for an explanation. None is given, more people leave muttering about "stupid jokes", "wasting of time" and "misrule"...

Word on the Street of Bezantur -
With the War Games complete, the victorious team of Kellen, his elf slave Naveed, a human by the name of Tzas, and an elf who called himself Anyndyl were honored with meeting the Tharchioness of Bezantur - Mari Agneh.
While the details of what they discussed are not known, it is said they helped foil an ill-timed attempt on the tharchioness’ life. No doubt they are now quite deep in her council - for good or ill.
