From the top of Bezantur’s Central Citadel his cold, bright blue eyes swept across Bezantur’s market. His heightened senses easily spotting slight movement in the dark alleys nearby and he turned to watch impassively as a Thug stepped out of the dark shadows in an alleyway and brutally beat down a man who had just left the marketplace.
‘Typical Thayan ingenuity’ he thought to himself with a smirk. There were many willing souls here, but few worthy of the gift. Marcus had thought him a fool for coming here so long ago and risking the wrath of the Red Wizards - as one who had done just over a year ago disappeared shortly after his flashy arrival.
But he had better plans. More secretive plans. He had picked his faithful much more carefully and granted them the true power of the night. After spending years residing secretly in Thay and finalizing his plans, he had chosen those who would be the first truly powerful vampires in Thay - with him as their hidden leader.
It was time to rebuild his Coven. But first; it was time to feed.
Moments later a bloodcurdling scream from the Thug’s alleyway rang out and faded away to join the chorus of other screams echoing throughout Bezantur that night.

One thing that we did last year in Beta testing, which I personally really enjoyed; was running a weekly scheduled sessions that formed a campaign. I would like to bring this back again for a 4-6 week run using the newly implemented PC Vampirism feature as the campaign focus.
These sessions are set up where one DM runs an ongoing campaign with a group of 3-6 players. Think tabletop DnD - only with a computer and it being a little more difficult to share your stale pizza and warm soda with the other players! :)
Any players who are interested in joining a 4-6 week campaign focusing on vampirism, please take a look at the following:
1. Each player will create one new character that will only be used for this weekly session. The character should not be used at any time other than the weekly session. After we are done with the 4-6 week campaign, the character can then be used as often or little as you like.
2. This campaign will focus on vampirism. Any PCs who join this campaign will start at level 5, and will be turned into vampires as part of the first week’s event.
3. Even though this will be a group of ‘evil’ vampire PCs, party members must be willing to work together. While some Character vs. Character conflict can certainly occur, the majority of these sessions will focus on cooperative teamwork and roleplay.
4. If a character misses a session or two, we can bump it up to approximately the same level as the other characters in the group. So while you as a player won’t have to make every session, you should still plan on making time most of them if you’d like to join. If you are interested in joining this campaign, please make an effort to adjust your real-life schedule so you can be involved with most, if not all, of the 4-6 campaign sessions.
Action Items for anyone interested in joining the session....
1. Develop a character concept for your vampire PC.
2. E-mail [email protected] or PM me (Thayan) the details of the character you'd like to create for the session. I'll need its Name, Alignment, Class, a short background, and info on its personality.
The first week’s event will actually be the PC becoming a Vampire, so do not include that process in your character details. Just consider everything leading up to it, why Victor may have decided to turn your PC into a vampire, and why your PC would willingly agree to it. No PC in Thay (in these sessions or during regular play) can be ‘forced’ into becoming a vampire. They must, when the time comes, willingly agree to it.
3. Post here with a time you will be available each week for the next 4-6 weeks. For those interested and accepted, we will try to iron out a time (which likely will be difficult) that most of us can get together. While it is also very difficult to put a time estimate on these sessions as they usually run long, probably plan for about a 2-3 hour block of time.
