Suggestion - Those Wonderful Prison Shackles
#1
The new Prison Shackles sound like a great way to abduct and temporarily lock away rival Player-Characters without having to go through the trouble of enslaving them. But it seems that the Legions aren't the only factions who keep jail cells, prisons, dungeons and torture chambers on hand and ready to receive fresh captives....

So would it be possible to add the Slave Shackles to the cells of the various temples, towers, caves and whatever other places have them? And that way, the factions keeping those cells could capture whatever adventures have drawn their ire...or at least they could be encouraged to make friends with PCs in the local Legion, who could do the locking up for them. It might become a two-way street, but that's how factions build solid relationships with each other. "Loviatan! We need to borrow your torture chamber immediately." "Right this way, Legionnaires. Help yourselves."

The OOC explanations for capturing people could get interesting, though, particularly with those inter-templar rivalries. "I found this Eldath-lover trying to heal a gnome who had just earned ten lashes for his insolence. So I waited for her to finish, and now I'm taking her home with me and giving her thirty lashes (double the gnome's punishment, plus ten for being an Eldathan). Then I'll stand outside her cell and ridicule her suffering and weeping for an hour. That should teach her."

So does this idea rock or does it suck? Cool

Heh well if you really want to be shackled to a wall Azura could......

Well I can see in regards to whom you follow it would make sense, however there is potenial for abuse though overall I really have not seen much metagaming in this server.

Not a bad idea. I know one char who publicly dissed the AG and was totally deserving of a kidnapping, beating and torture session. Though she's a weirdo and might have enjoyed that ;)

I think there might need something to balance it out some though... e.g. a low-level char shouldn't be able to automatically capture a higher level char. Maybe it only works on winded/knocked out chars?

You know her well. "Yay, more enlightenment and communion with my goddess through mind-addling agony! Now be sure to heat those fish hooks until they're red hot. We wouldn't want my nipples to grow infected and oozing with pus, now would we?" :P

I thought that's how the prison shackles already worked, like the slave shackles do. You mean the Legionnaires don't have to beat someone into a stupor before they can clap the poor fool in irons and drag him away?

Well, that takes the fun out of it. Rolleyes

Actually I'm not sure how they work yet. Maybe I'll bring Cain on and start arresting people for NOT CLOSING THE DAMNED CARAVANSERAI GATE!

Not that that's a pet peeve of mine or anything.

Yes, make this possible. Then step 2, ensure Melody is online. Step 3, leave Kaiser and her alone for a few hours.

I share your pain. Cain can borrow Tristella's Belt of Invisibility and surprise the gate-leaver-openers, if he wants. ;)

No way! We like our Melody with all of her bones, thank you very much. :P

Oh, wait...I'm thinking of that sick freak Marrick. Carry on. ;)

Yes, Melody would like to retain all of her bones in working order. :)

As far as expanding the use of shackles, with assassins about, it could be awkward if you are shackled, those around you crash, and you get assassinated in the interim.

Really is a perfect time for an assassin to strike when you are all chained up.

Why whatever do you mean? :P Marrick is as normal as can be.
