The Growing World of Thay!

Great job on the additions to Thay, guys! Finally got out to Armuthar last night and investigated the new addition. Was so impressed I had one my characters join the city guard there! Looking forward to investigating it more.

Truly impressive what you all have built. Looking forward to more. Thanks for sharing. :)
heh, I meant Amruthar.... :(

Glad you are enjoying it! Of those new areas added, Maligor's Tower is the most decorated (and largest) in the entire PW. And to let you in on a little secret....we are inching ever closer to opening up the entire southern plateau of Thay. While I'd like to say it's weeks away, it may be more like a couple months away. But it will occur in the near future.

And for anyone wondering "Why didn't KTA help create anything in Amruthar?" I say - just you wait a little bit longer and see.... ;)

And finally made it around to Moszabbar too! Great job on it as well.

Loved the hotsprings there. Laughed my ass off when an NPC told me to put some damn clothes on though. :D

Wanted to say that I really like the change that was made while I was away in regards to quest items. I like the frequency that they are found now and that they can only be found in the area given.

When I played before and was given a retrieval I would just go to my favorite dungeon (Thasselen) and just do the first level circuit grind until I found what I needed.

This new way is great! I was given a retrieval for an item from the Abandoned Tower on the Alaor Islands - South and it was a place I had never been to. My partner and I had to find the tower first, which was an adventure itself, and then explore the tower looking for my item. Due to it being a totally new area for us both, it had a good PnP feeling of danger throughout the entire crawl. A very good feeling.

Good job on that change. Forces players to explore Thay.

YES!!! Pleiade, you just made my day - and the time spent revising that totally worth it! That's exactly what I was going/hoping for.

Thanks for sharing (and caring)! ;)

I am extremely pleased to announce that with the most recent server update we have been able to open up the entire southern plateau of Thay!!!! This means everything from a little ways north of Eltabbar to the Alamber Sea in the south, and everything from the Sunrise Mountains in the east to Nethjet, the Umber Marshes, and Murbant in the west can be reached on foot or by horseback. No more paying for a caravan to take you to Tyraturos, Eltabbar, Amruthar, or anywhere else on the plateau of Thay! Hooray! And as mentioned in the server update, this update has more than tripled the number of available overland areas (leagues) that can be traveled in Thay.

It is my hope that we get people exploring the new additions and more often moving out of the Priador (Bezantur, Thasselen, etc) to the new areas for some of their adventures. Look for new adventure area additions in the Sunrise Mountains with the next server update. So head to Pyarados or Moszabbar now, maybe use either as a staging point to head to the Kepetur Ruins for adventure right now, use the Adventure Portal in the Temple of Tymora for some random fun, or simply get familiar with them as a staging point from which you can journey into the Sunrise Mountains for fame and fortune.

Finally, I want to give a big thanks and shout out Siucre, Carcass, and KTA for all their work to help complete Amruthar, Moszabbar, and Kepetur which enalbed us to make opening up the southern plateau a reality!!!

Now get out there and do some adventuring, dammit! ;)

Sorry for taking so long to get around to this, when I do get free time on the computer I usually spend it more so playing than typing. But, wanted to say great job on Pyarados(hope I spelled that right) and absolutely enjoyed the adventurer's portal. I haven't made it out to Keptur Ruins, but look forward to doing it soon.

Did get stuck on the Uncharted Land for awhile though. That was quite the adventure.
