Try XP service pack 2 or three. I think that's what I have it on and had to set run as admin to have it work on win 7.

I use XP SP 3 and run as administrator on my system....but nothing I tried seemed to work with 10.

Odd you could try Vista compatibility. Do you have a copy of NWN before you switched to win 8 on an external drive?
Anyway you have time for ten still. Maybe some of our tech geeks will respond. :)

lol...got a year for tech help. :D.....and as for vista compatability....I tried that too. And no NWN on external hard drive.
Will give it another go when 10 forums (hopefully) come in with some help. :D

Windows 10 seems like a decent system however I will roll back to 8.1 while I can. Since after one year of trial you have to pay anyway to me it makes sense.
8.1 was doing fine.

I upgraded to 10 this morning.
This is how I got NWN to work this time round.
Copy and pasted NWN folder, placed on desktop. (it included all updates and hak paks, saves going through all saved files for each of them).
Upgraded to 10.
I tried NWN again, with same result as last time, "not responding/working properly".
Uninstalled NWN, kept all saved games and custom modules, when prompted.
Re-installed NWN.
Copy and pasted NWN folder from desktop back into the folder, replacing all files, when prompted.
Ran the game, allowed it to configure itself. You can set the resolution in game after you know it runs. (shouldn't need to update or install haks as already in the copied NWN folder).
I went through the icon it places on the desktop, and after all the load ins and video's, *sighs*, I entered game spy connection page with Thay already still in the list. Connected and entered. Game ran okay, just had to set the resolution up while in game.
I have not worked out how to get the Thay connection icon to work, when I set it up and tried to run the game it stopped working/responding.
But the game runs, for me anyway, through the main icon. A small wait is a small price to pay for my Thay 'fix'. :D
I hope this helps anyone experiencing problems with the upgrade. :D

Gratz. The icon will work. I think maybe because it was set on win 8 not win 7 like mine you had to jump through hoops.
Overall I am satisfied with Win 10. :)
