Scaled Encounters

I love the fact that it's the slaves that shout "To arms!" like they have authority.

I have noticed even the roads now give me nothing but 1xp spawns this has gone on repeatedly (even after reset) across areas like the mines, to sewers, to roads, to the alaor zones.

P.S Caravans and ships spawn scaled foes for me. Dunno about RazoRaid

I have noticed so far that on caravan attacks my level 5 character hardly gets any xp and usually no drops.

However spawns do give me decent enough xp and gold and an occasional item.

Alright. I’m shutting down this and all the other ‘I-think-there-is-a-problem-is-anyone-else-having-a-problem-that-you-can-post-here-too?’ threads. So far the only thing they have managed to achieve is the snowball effect that "Someone has some problem somewhere with some PC they maybe didn't think was a problem before but now it is since everyone else is apparently having problems".

To begin with, I need SPECIFIC examples of how you have recreated your perceived problem MULTIPLE times and then have it posted or PMed to me per the bug posting guidelines. This is *not* just what you think caused it ONE time and then immediately running to post about it and providing "I think you recreate it this way" steps. If you *don’t* have steps to repro the problem or you aren’t 100% sure it is a bug, then try just sending me a PM instead. There are many community members that do. I will tell you I am much more responsive to those people privately than engaging in a public discussion of bug reports on the forums because what I say here affects everyone and can be perceived by others in ways not intended. So I watch what I post regarding problems and do so more cautiously and deliberately than in a private message.

Next, it was my huge mistake that I thought it would be an good tactic to try something different and respond to a ‘problem’ report about intended spawn behavior in a way to get people to actually adventure somewhere outside of the Bezantur Sewers by asking "Hey, have you tried your mid-level PC in any of these areas setup with treasure and encounters for mid-high level PCs?". That will not be repeated since it has failed miserably by apparently only encouraging posts about any type of perceived spawn problem people think they have with their PC. TheSupremeForce got it right - as you level, the initial areas you were sent to by questgivers will eventually become beneath you and the creatures in them will not spawn higher than a certain level. As you get quests from NPCs at various levels, they will direct you to adventure areas targeted for your level. But it seems this needs to be spelled out otherwise these posts will never die. So here it is:
If you want the best treasure and encounter results, you will need to expand your horizons and adventure in different areas. I guarantee that if you are a mid-level PC who still makes his/her regular circle through the Bezantur Sewers for the 20, 30, 40, 50th time, you are going to start seeing more and more crappy spawns, crappy XP because the spawns are so weak, and crappy treasure. If you’re not sure where to adventure, get an item retrieval quest from a random questgiver and/or get the overland map of Thay to discover the different ‘static’ locations.

Next, trips along the major roads of Thay should not be continuously plagued by all manner of creatures. Why would they when they are supposed well traveled and/or patrolled? Maybe you’re just traveling them to get from point A to B and don’t really want to be hung up on encounters all the time? Therefore, maybe the roads and some other portions of the overland system only has a 50% of spawning an encounter point even before it gets to all the other variables that cause an encounter to spawn? Maybe, just maybe…

In addition, as far as I am concerned for trying to troubleshoot and fix any problem, there is no problem with low merchant prices or anything else when there is NO accompanying data behind the 'problem'.

So please, I ask everyone to slow down and *think* about a whether or not your perceived problem is worthy of heading to the forums and publicly posting about it before just automatically doing so.
