I only played abit of PnP but only 4E, as it seemed somewhat simpler. and 3.5 was not sold in the shops anymore.
So the Systems was nearly completly new to me.

Sten is an avid roleplayer, though, mostly LARP.
I have been trying to get him to play some L5R and WoD PnP as well, some times, but it did not happen.

PnP never has been my thing, the imagination just was never there, I guess.
I've RPed in WoW tho for a few years (Tho the quality of the RP there is horrible compared to Thay, but it was all I had)
and then I've been a LARPer for like 5 years now.
(Also there is a big diffrence between American LARP and Scandinavian LARP.)
Tho this is a minor detour of the Thread's purpose.

If your going to play PnP theres only one way to go 1st eddition baby...yeah im talking old school original DnD doesnt get any better than that...of course finding the source books is a real bitch...unless of course you still have the ones you used from the 80's :)

I started with 1st edition waaay back when. My favorite is 2nd edition though. I really enjoyed all those non-weapon proficiencies to flush out a character with. Sure, you have the skills in 3rd ed. but nowhere near the amount as in 2nd ed.
