Amazing fountain, the layout is really confusing to me however... Is it true you cant get a map of Eltabbar or was Edin pulling my leg? Again...

Maps of Eltabbar are not available (at least on the open market) as per source material for reasons known (only...maybe?) by the Red Wizards themselves. I have created a map of Eltabbar though, and they do exist in-game, but they will be extremely hard to come by. Here however, is the description on the Eltabbar map itself. This information is also available via rumors when speaking to normal Thayan citizens as well.

This map of the capital city of Eltabbar is well annotated and easy to memorize.

In any other realm and under different circumstances, Eltabbar would be considered beautiful. Its broad canals -unique in all Faerûn- spread across the city in an intricate network, often decorated with floating flowers, and lined with tall, elegant stone walkways and baroque buildings. Its wizards' residences are graceful, fluted towers built of many colorful and exotic materials. The River Eltar pours down from Thaymount in a foaming white waterfall, then spreads throughout the city, following the canals before flowing through the city watergates and into Lake Thaylambar. The lake itself spreads its blue-green blanket beyond the city, periodically ruffled by the wind and roughened by catspaws, the white sails of ships visible in the distance. Eltabbar's public parks are manicured collections of flora from a dozen lands, some seen nowhere else in Faerûn. Colorful birds flit from tree to tree, filling the air with song. Privileged Thayans wander the gardens, contemplating the beauty around them, scarcely noticing the miserable slaves who tend the trees around them.

Eltabbar is a huge city with a population varying between 80,000 and 100,000. Over half of these are slaves; nowhere in Thay is the grim institution of slavery more evident. Eltabbar's most prominent feature is its strangely laid-out canal system, built in the shape of an enormous rune of unknown significance. The canal is used for transportation around the city and small polebarges are found along its banks.

However, there are many strange things about Eltabbar. First and foremost is its exact layout. Of particular note, maps of Eltabbar such as this one are strictly prohibited. The Red Wizards maintain their assertion that maps of the city are to be kept out of the hands of the general public "for security reasons," and unauthorized possession of this map is punishable by instant death.

One word to describe Eltabbar.

Wow.

Hats off to the buiders here, that city is just....wow. And yes, Red Hall is the major wow factor. Might be the best zone I have ever seen on a PW.

Speaking of the Red Hall I have a question.

When I visted the Red Hall i found the Zulkiers chairs and it said only the zulkiers themselves could sit in it. I was playing one of my fav. characters so I didnt risk finding out, but if a PC sits in one of those chairs, will they get attacked or magically killed? (Or something like that the Mysterious Saviors stop helping you etc etc etc.)

I'd like to add my kudos here too. Eltabbar is very cool:
Melody: This is the Grand Gate
Cain: Anyone coming in has a dragon taking a dump on them

Melody: Here's the Tam estate
Cain: As in...?
Melody: Yes

Melody: Here's the Flass estate
Cain: As in...?
Melody: Yes

Very fun trip :)

And Redhall is simply amazing. I agree with Payne, the best area I've seen on a persistent world. The fountain is spectacular (and I'm pretty sure it's interactive for anyone who hasn't noticed), but the throne room is the best. Stepping in there you get a real sense of the awesome power of Thay... and a real dread of sitting in or touching any of those chairs :)
