Forge in Nethjet
#1
I have a question concerning the forge in Nethjet. Is there a limit to the number of enchantments you can add to a single item? If so, what is it?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

That depends on the intial properties of the item and certain enchantments have a stacking limit.
Caramiriel:Retired
Garbage:Retired
Rimeth: Merchant of Bezantur
Marister (dead) -Ranger -Robin Hood of Thay (death marked for pissing off a Daeron.)

Typically it's 3 different enchantments, I think.

So you could have armor that has:
+2
Immune to Knockdown
Regeneration 1

But once you put the 3rd enchantment on, it's done (unless you remove one) I think, so if you wanted to bump the above up to +3 (once you have enough notoriety) then you'd be stuck.

I think the above is accurate, but I'm sure if it's not someone more knowledgeable will correct me. :)

Your statement is correct, Karilynn.

Does the forge feed on your notoriety, or just use it as a measure of the strenght of enchantements you can place ?

It doesn't feed on it, but the more notoriety you have the more powerfull enchantments you can make.

It does not feed on notoriety but it will cost you gold and XP equal to 10% of the gold spent for the enchantment.

Thank you for all the replies. Please excuse me if I am being overly dense on this. Thank you again for any help you can give.

If I have a +1 weapon, can I add three enchantments to it or two because it already has a +1 bonus?

From what Karilynn has said it looks like I can, but I would not be able to increase the weapon to +2 unless I dropped one of the other enchantments. Is that correct?

An item can have 3 enchantments on it so your +1 item can only have two more added to it. If you add two enchantments and then wish to take it from +1 to +2, you would have to remove the +1 enhancement before adding the the +2 enhancement.
