Bump. I have had similar thoughts when trying to up an amour that had +1 to AC and +2/+2 to skills. I wanted to upgrade the AC to +2 but could not as the three enchantments were applied already. Upgrading from +1 to +2 is cheaper than removing +1 and adding +2. But this perhaps is intended?
