Thats what i was talking about :P
Acher motherboards have extremely good support for ecc and advanced cpu fetures.. Trust me i know what i am talking about, i built my pc as well from parts :D . This is my baby :)
14 core distributed computeing @ 3.6 GHz with 36GB ECC-Ram. The sound card is protected from heavy current draw by a small thermionic valve amplifier (you can vaguely see the tubes glowing at the bottom) The bottom segment is essentially the worlds largest Ram-disk allowing me to not only have maxed out the data bus but also gives me true volatility in memory. Unplug the computer for even a second and both the swap and temp files are irrecoverably gone thanks to the Volatility effect of DDR. I also can run windows programs in Linux with very close to 100% compatibility due to being able to visualize them in a somewhat unique way. 2 ATI 5970's for graphics (I know what your thinking those cards are like 3-4 years old now... yes but its a warhorse of a card.) CPU's are liquid cooled, that top segment is the radiator.
Hehe... I could go on for hours on this subject :P
But seriously, Acher has some great advanced features for ram.. MSI has some nice unlocking ability that can sometimes unlock extra cores in your cpu. Just dig around and find the feature-set you need.
