It will be awhile yet, but yes I am actually thinking of playing an evil character.
Most likely the new character will be a Druid and possibly a Drow.

I plan to do some research however since we have players who playing Drow and also non-Drow evil a little insight would be nice. :)

I also realize that I would be restricted to NE and according to the list of Deities, ironically the Drow Pantheon does not allow Druids so my druid would have to worship outside the box.

So some suggestions on which deity could work, the pros and cons of playing Drow and your experiences with NE.
