Good stuff, this chat. Though I was not involved in what happened, I have an opinion. The idea that players new to the server "deserve" to have their character severely punished for not knowing details is not one I agree with. Sure, Thay is a ruthless, cold and cruel nation. But particularly in light of the fact that I am new here I hope that, should I fail to have memorized everything here in a week that some here have had years to assimilate, my character will not be ruthlessly beat down without so much as a tell from another player giving some sort of explanation.

Well as Edin says, Punishment makes people learn faster, that is how I learned on my first Chat how to properly speak to Red Wizard, and really made me not forget how to. and when you are a member of the Legion and have sworn an oath to the Tharchion, then you should really know his name, if you don't then research it..took me like, 2 minutes to find alot of info on Thay.
