Kukris Suck
#11
I'm fairly certain the European rapier and dagger models -are- included in CEP 2.4 most servers are running 2.4 at the moment.

personally I've always felt a number of the 2d/matte weapon models in CEP are very low quality. I've always preferred the plainer 'shiny' options only.

I dunno about most of them; servers like FRC and Legacy of the North are running either CEP 2.2 or CEP 2.3, and I have seen the European rapiers and daggers on those servers. The last servers where I recall playing with CEP 2.4 were the now-defunct Andrune and the equally defunct Pirate Isles. Serrica Thallys (my Level 17 Cleric of Umberlee from the late Pirate Isles server) wielded either a Rapier of the High Road or a Greater Trident of Sekolah, and both were set to the fancier CEP models (including a golden basket hilt and a green crystalline blade for the rapier).

I'll dig around CEP 2.4 with Aurora some more; maybe those rapiers and daggers were included in 2.4, or maybe they were already part of 2.3 and 2.4 just didn't overwrite them. I'll figure it out.

(I still couldn't find any nice-looking kukris in CEP, of course. :P )

Yeah, I have found that for good looking Kurkis you really need to a model override, I recall one good one I used way back... Just improved the shape of them so that they actually had the right shape edge, not just a clunky bent piece of metal.

I could be thinking of 2.3, or rather, servers using an update instead of the whole package, maybe.

Maybe we could borrow a model from Team Fortress 2. The Sniper gets to wield some pretty sweet-looking kukris, the Fury Bushwacker in particular. ( Plus, you get a "Kook the Spook" achievement if you actually manage to kill an enemy Spy with your kukri, so, you know...grab your kukri and be sure to do your Spy checks. :D )

Like the red-handled halberd which looks like an actual halberd, and not a glaive, a Lochaber axe or some other random polearm? Yeah, I could stand to see a few of those around here. :)

The russet-handled shortsword which looks like a hunting knife is pretty elegant in its simplicity. The skull mace and the flanged maces have their charms, and the magic staff with the fancy metal ankh would fit right in on a server about a nation forged by an angry bunch of displaced Egyptians. The warhammer which looks like a fist holding a spike is also cool-looking, but I think something like that would do Piercing rather than Bludgeoning. And back before I got tired of Forgotten Realms: Cormyr, my Cleric of Talona wielded one of those rat flails, only I had the middle set to 4 (or whichever one is the white shaft), so it looked like a rat hanging from a bone by its tail. Even though my cleric never received much welcome among the PCs over there (thanks to a previous in-game story arc where some Talontar brought a big plague through Greatgaunt), I always got at least one amused Tell from another player every time Averlee whipped her flail out. :D

Oh, yeah...some of the fancy goodies on display here in Breakwater Harbor, a pirate-haven-themed area which I created for the late Pirate Isles server.

A dwarven waraxe and a magic staff:

A polearm, a scimitar and a small shield (admitted not the best view of the latter two):

A large shield and a new Viking-styled longship:

New ships, a new barrel, a new chest, bolts of cloth and an Egyptian-styled canopic jar:

A new sailboat:

A Celtic cross, a new pirate flag and a table made of tombstones:

A longcoat tail and various furniture bits, including lettering:

A noble chair and various other furniture bits:

So, refresh my memory here: If I were to load a CEP Starter module, plop an item down somewhere and Export the item, would the export include the resources needed for the object, so that the object alone could be imported into a non-CEP module? Or is there more to extracting resources from one module and plugging them into another module than that? :-/

There is a lot more involved when adding items to haks. I only wish it were as simple as "drag and drop".

Yep. Hak compatibility. best to use overrides ,however they can cause game to crash. I had three overrides do that.
