That sounds awesome! I have this cool idea for a good drow who's like a ranger and fights with two scimitars! I just need to come up with a name now...
Look Feawen... we may have a male drow to bring under toe. mwuhahahaha

I assume you meant "dilute" rather than "distill".

With a relatively small player base like Thay has, it's very easy to get "too many" PCs of theme/race or another. When I started playing Garr I heard a number of comments both IC and OOC about how "there are so many gnolls on the server now". So? I created a character I wanted to play and I played it.

My feelings are:
1) Don't just count PCs in that calculation. Count the NPCs as well, and it will feel more "balanced"
2) Just because you created your PC first doesn't give you dibs on a certain race or theme. Other players can have different interpretations on that same race or theme.
3) Keep in mind that other players might not even be aware of the current mix of PC races and classes on the server if they are new, returning, or rarely play.
4) The server has rules in place to limit special races... if Thayan is unsatisfied with the mix, he can change the rules.

+1

To be able to play a Drow without DM or Admin intervention is rare. It is a reward given to a player who has one or more characters who have met the notoriety requirements. Knowing this and that they are uncommon I started this thread to get advice so I can not only play within game guidelines but also play a developed character. I like playing outside of the box though many feel I should be put back in and it sealed. :P So far I am pleased at the responses and will take the suggestions openly.

There maybe too many of this and too many of that but that is subjective and a point of view. So what? I look at the individual(s) I am rping with are they convincing as the character they are trying to convey? I just go with the flow. There are many legionnaires for instance but each one has joined for a different purpose.

I try and focus on my characters and development rather than others.

How about "Elric Do'Urden"?
