summons issues
#1
it seems animate dead wont work with summon creature line of spells.. I've cast one and had it replaced by the other.. I got my feet wet playing multiplayer and have been on servers where they allow multiple summons (with necromancy focuses).

can anyone give me the max number of summons available on thay?

I am not sure. My Druid Cara can have three. Her companion and summon and another using animal empathy.
Caramiriel:Retired
Garbage:Retired
Rimeth: Merchant of Bezantur
Marister (dead) -Ranger -Robin Hood of Thay (death marked for pissing off a Daeron.)
Vil'a'w'en Mel'for'm - Blighter of Moander

Animate and summon creature are basically in the same slot. If you cast and already have one, you replace it with another. A familiar, a slave, an animal companion, or an animal charmed by animal empathy are all diffrent slots. This cuts down on server lag.

doesn't this hurt cleric based necromancers?

(not that the server..really has.. any.. that are all up in arms about it)

Isn't that how the game works, by default?
"Survival of the fittest and the winnowing of the weak are Malar's Legacy. A brutal, bloody death or kill has great meaning. The crux of life is the challenge between the hunter and the prey, the determination of who lives or dies. View every important task as a hunt. Remain ever alert and alive."

The server is set up with the game defaults. A caster can have 2 under his control, the companion/familiar and a summons... if they have the means (druids), they can have a third with the animal empathy skill.
However, if your caster is a member of a faction, they will also have the summons the faction item allows which does not replace any other summons they may have. So, if in a faction, they can have 3 or 4 (w/animal empathy) under their command.
