The server will be going down today at about 6:00 PM Central (a little over 4 hors from the time of this post) to apply OS updates and restart the physical machine - which hasn't been done in several months. This should address some/most current lag issues anyone may be experiencing. It should take no more than 15 minutes, otherwise I'll note any problems here.

In addition, an update to the PW will be released at that time as well.

This Friday, July 17, the internet connection to the PW is getting upgraded which will double the upload speed. This is important for any game server as it gives more bandwidth to send multiple players info from the server. As a result, it could result in a decrease to lag - especially when there are a number of people on at once and/or engaged in combat.

I am told this will occur "sometime" between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Friday. When it does, the server will likely be down for awhile while the tech does whatever he needs to do to complete the work. I'll post here again when the work is complete and the server is back online.

The ISP upgrade is complete and the server is back up and running again. Upload speed should be running at twice the rate prior to today which, again, should mean less lag especially when in combat.

This cost of this upgrade and a few months of the subsequent increase to the monthly subscription fee is/was paid for by the remaining funds from last year's hard drive recovery fund, so thanks again to everyone who donated to that effort.
