[RESOLVED] Two Server Crashes - Seeking Root Cause
#11
Server just crashed. Related to this issue?

Dunno what it is, but it looks like the server just crashed.

Edit: Sorry, did not mean to double post.

I was on as DM and someone was bleeding in the Tyra catacombs (Character name Izmarael or something like that (I am probably not spelling it quite right); I think the log in was Snipes1302 maybe). I was not at the location at the time so don't have other details.

Imazrael Flass. I noticed the name last night.

Not that it matters, but Impazrael Flass (Azrael's Imp stuck in my noggin, apparently).

Happy to hear it wasn't Veybold bleeding though...

I have been noticing the last week or two though that, rather than starting at 0 hp, the bleeding script has been starting Ezar'Tok at -8 hp. Granted, he's been bleeding after crits mostly, but it seems an odd coincidence that both times it would be at -8 hp.

Has the bleeding script perhaps been modified from what seemed to be a process that started at 0 hp each time to one that tries to start at whatever hp the PC lands at, recently? Maybe there's a bug triggered as the script tries to calculate hp to start with while magic and mayhem and bandages and cures and the like are flying to and fro like so many winged monkeys? (Maybe it causes some sort of thread lock trying to query PC for hp while something else is trying to adjust PC hp, and one or the other isn't respecting the other's priority?)

Yes, I noticed last night that Bastion Stone started bleeding at -8 as well after a werebear attack. Most of the time it does start at 0 though.
Tempus' orders to all combatants:
1. Be fearless. 2. Never turn away from a fight. 3. Obey the rules of war.

As far as I can remember there's always been a chance of it being less than 0, though maybe it's doing that moreso now for some reason?

I was logging on when it crashed. Connected to the server, PCs were there and people were online. I managed to make it in game but the server was down by then as I could do nothing with Shianne, the connection had been lost.

Last log entries seem to indicate that the PC who started bleeding was able to bandage him/herself, so it appears they did get up at least moments before the crash. But yes, this is the same problem that started a week ago now.

I need more info though. the last minute or so of your combat logs might be helpful, if there is a script error or something that occurs. Anything. The bleeding script has not been touched (at least directly) by any recent changes. Maybe staring at -8 might be a clue, but I'm still looking for more help. If I can't find out more, I'm going to have to enable script profiling or something to try and determine what scripts are firing when the crash occurs, which will certainly cause server-side lag.

Question for Williow, Kalien, Loosewilly, and/or whoever was playing Lysiras Felgard:
Who all was in your party at the High Road Escarpment when the server crashed? Was Veybold with you? Because for some reason he got credit for the last kill, but looking back early in the log he did not get credit for any other kill with your party. Was he with you? Was he nearby the party? Did he actually kill the Large Stink Beetle?
