Wow - well Carcass wins the gold medal for time on this. I only sent the testers the stuff to test yesterday afternoon, and I've already got back his testing results on all of the Cleric spells!

Thanks very much for the quick work Carcass!!! Very helpful stuff.

Not bad at all. I've finished most of the 1-3 spells. So I should have mine submitted today or tomorrow.

I am about 50% there myself. I can send what I have done already if you wish.

No - just send them all once you're done. Take your time and make sure your testing is accurate - everyone here is relying on you so we don't have to do through a full hak update again to possibly only fix a minor issue with the spells. :)

Well, I have to say that this is shaping up to be a tremendous update! Do the other servers know that they can create new spells yet? If not, shhhhh. Let's not tell them just yet. ;)

I just had a couple of quickie questions. I see that 3rd Ed's 7th-Level Cleric Spells Blasphemy (which whammies anything non-Evil) and Dictum (which whammies anything non-Lawful) are being brought in. Are there any plans to bring in the other two spells from that family: Holy Word (whammies anything non-Good) and Word of Chaos (whammies anything non-Chaotic)?

Also, I'm not all that sure how the scripting here works, but if it's possible to create new spells, is it possible to create new Cleric Domains as well? NWN has neglected such Domains as Law, Chaos, Luck and Charm for far too long.

After spending close to a day sometime back trying to get the Luck, Chaos, and Law domains added...they will actually be in the hak. But there is a pretty significant problem with them I only found out about when I was probably 90% done with them and starting to test them in-game. The issue is somewhat complex, but what it comes down to is that the Thay PW hak and tlk file which will contain all the modifications for these custom domains don't actually load for the players (you!) until *after* they've created their PC and logged into the PW. So that means those domain feats and spells (in the hak) and their nice descriptions (in the tlk), etc are not available at character creation since you're using plain old NWN to create them. Which kind of defeats the purpose for spending all that time to add them, and doesn't make me inclined to spend time on any more even if:

Apparently there is a fix for it, but it requires me to make a NWNX change on the server (not a problem), but also requires any player (you!) connecting to the PW to be using the NWNCX. So I dunno...I guess if someone really, really wants to play a cleric with one of those domains, downloading and using the NWNCX is probably not a problem. And you actually only need to use it during character creation, although it is an improved client version of NWN so I do recommend it for everyone, regardless.

One of the more detailed discussions around this problem is here, if you care to read it - http://forum.bioware.com/topic/546868-pr...ltiplayer/

I'll think about adding the other two spells. No promises though.
