Had a problem starting my compy. I hope its not what happened before.
I am currently backing up files. Worse case, I will have to use my old compy
which is much slower.
edit KTA: reading the thread title I thought one of your characters was broken! :P

Well it seems I was sent a defective HD. They will be sending a new one of a different manufacturer and a new motherboard as a precaution.
As things are still under warranty, I will not have to pay.

I know the feel!
I've had so much trouble getting my FAN on the GPU replaced.
First they said it could not be done (Which was an obvious lie)
Then they forgot to actually do something. (Reminded a call later)
Then they put wrong cables on this thing so I had to go there again and get an adapter! (And I needed another adapter to actually get it working).
Not to mention the new fan is bigger and bulges farther than my old, so I had to loose some PCI slots.(I think they are called)
Lucky I even fitted it at all!
Moral of the story: Read about a company before using their services. (A lot who have been there have said a lot of bad things about them).

Well its a Dell computer and the support has been great. Yes reading about services is good.

Ok. Well everything is running except nwn. I have win 7 and got an application crash error. I will do some research. Worse case I may use my old compy to play.
At least I can access toolset :P

Have you tried running in compatibility mode?

Are you new to running NWN on Win7? You need to run the app as Administrator there.

I am aware of that aspect my previous hd was win 7. Compatabilty mode does not work. It is possible an ati driver issue and I may have to rename the exe file slightly.
I will also look on my external drive and see what the settings were.

You are quite likely correct about the driver issue. If the driver was updated to the newest with the new "installation," things might no longer work. I still use an old un-updated driver with my video card because the update killed half the things I use my computer for ....

Well I still have options in regards to the card but I found an interim solution. Using my intergrated graphics card!
