Letter of the Black Will
#1
A letter is sent to the Tharchion of Bezantur, delivered via a dark hooded, robed Messenger of a certain church...

Salutations, great Tharchion of Bezantur.

I am hereby sending this letter to you in hopes of arranging a meeting whenever it fits your schedule. Such as it is and you have no doubt heard, I seem to have had an altercation with a Red Wizard by the name of Edward, in Bezantur. This was due to my distraction of not showing proper respect in passing, as he was dealing with his apprentice in a rigid fashion.

This is a severe misfortune, since I have done nothing but show respect to the Red Wizards and their apprentices ever after I set foot in Thay. I am aware that you are the rightful rulers and command such an aspect from all the people who ever choose to dwell in your realm. This was an isolated case. Aswell, I did not once instigate a fight nor did I insult him in any way after he called my actions out. What I attempted, instead, was to politely remind him that causing such turmoil between the Red Wizards and the church of Myrkul, of which I am a full fledged member of, because of this incident, wasn't productive. Before I could apologize for my oversight, however, I was being told by this same Red Wizard, that I was to be made a "public example". Shortly after, a Bigby's Forceful Hand was utilized on my person, though I escaped via a Stone of Recall to safety.

The purpose of this letter is to mend for this situation that I seem to have brought myself into, aswell as to make clear that to question the Red Wizard's authority and power is never on my mind or that of my colleagues. This was simply a tragic misunderstanding, which I hope to correct with your acceptance, if at least to ensure that my work here, for the good of the church and Thay in general, will continue without such obstacles. I have aided Thay in numerous problems and tasks, from finding the Golden Armor for the Tharchion of Tyraturos, to donating gifts to the Redhall meeting months past and regaining a Red Wizard's emissary, to even attempting to root out an infamous assassin who was terrorizing the nobles of Thay.

To conclude, I hope to meet your presence if you so condone it, aswell as make an offering to hopefuly place this behind all our backs, giving way to a continued relationship between the rulers of Thay and the church of the Lord of the Dead, in lieu of keeping the machine that is this nation as well oiled as it can possibly be.

Death be in your steps,

Signed,

Mason Reaves, Nightbringer of Myrkul
