This is from the Version 4.1 update notes...

"-The ability to apply poison to weapons has been restricted to those with the Use Poison feat - Assassins and Blackguards"

My question is, what if you are neither of those classes, but find or forge an item with the Use Poison feat? Can you then use poisons the same as Assassins and Blackguards (i.e. without having to make a dex check)?

It is just the standard NWN switch which was flipped that requires the Use Poison feat. So technically if you can get that feat in another way, even if you aren't an assassin or blackguard, you can use poisons.
