First off, I don't even know if it can be done. :P
But, would it be possible to script it so that when you are using a deed on the door, it gives you the option of what interior layout you would be able to receive for that house? I can see where a PC may want to have as certain layout to facilitate what they want to do, but due to the Gods of Randomosity, it does not fit.
A possible thought is, in the housing thread, simply have images of the minimaps for the various layouts labeled ("Small 1, 2, 3...", "Large 1, 2, 3...", "Manor 1, 2, 3..." etc), and then tie that in to a conversation (perhaps when you use the deed on the door) and the player could select the layout at that point. :)
Like I said, I'm not sure if it can be done, or if it is a huge workload, but this way players can get the interior that they really desire. :)

You can always reclaim the deed and then choose the house again.

Doesn't the layout get locked in after the first person uses a deed on a specific door?

That has been my experience. No matter how many times I re-selected the same door, the layout was "set" at creation.

I wonder if that locking feature could be removed, so you could try and try again for the layout you wish, if that makes it easier?
Case in point; I have a Tempan Temple, but it has the Whore's bathroom. lol Not exactly what we were hoping for. :P

Locked layouts were put in to fix a problem with shifting layouts and persistent player placed furniture. A bed or chair that was in the middle of the room in one design would end up inside the wall in that dark area when a house was claimed by a second owner.

So if I lose my home; say I don't pay my taxes. The items are not destroyed, and stay there for when the next player selects that same location?
