Relinquish Claim on your Player Houses
#1
While I tried to figure out a way to do this without affecting people who had already (re)claimed their buildings, I was unable to do so in a way that now *and* in the long-term, addresses a recently discovered problem with people not being able to (re)claim new buildings after losing a building due to late taxes.

As a result, I ended up re-writing a significant portion of the player housing code, which is going to break home ownership for those people who already have their buildings claimed. And which, I hope, doesn't end up causing more bugs and problems than it solves. So while furniture and houses will still remain where they are, the persistent marker to indicate whether or not you are the owner of a building has changed.

I went through the logs and these were the PCs I saw that have buildings already. For them, and anyone else I may have missed, please relinquish claim to your building within the next day or so. All furniture and improvements will remain throughout this time. For all others, please don't claim a building until I update this thread giving you the go-ahead. Once everyone has released claim to their building, I will move over the updated module to the live server and at that point everyone can reclaim buildings again.

Maurice will relinquish his in a few minutes.

Umm ... the furniture and torture devices ARE still gonna be there, right?

Done. Donnie the merchant didn't spawn inside, though. I was planning to pack him up first. Hopefully, he'll still be there when the house is reclaimed.

Yes, all decorations will remain. Including items within persistent storage as well. I've made sure to test that with the updated module to make sure that stuff placed remains.

As far as merchants in the houses, I'm not looking at the code at this moment, but I'm 90% certain that if a building is relinquished and a merchant was flagged to be in there, the merchant is also gone. This is due to the automated late-tax system for inactive/dead PCs. I know we've had reports of merchants not spawning in a building they are supposed to, but as I've never been able to repro it given any information provided, that may still be a problem. If the merchant doesn't come back, please write up a bug report with as many details as you can think of when the merchant was not spawned in your building.

I think we are only waiting on LooseWilly to relinquish claim on a building. If anyone has him on Skype or a way to contact him outside the forum, I'd appreciate it if you'd do so. I am only going to wait until this evening before I switch over to the module that has the updated housing modifications since far more people than not are waiting on that one rather than the old version running now.

So If I read correctly, if we made improvements to doors they will stay as well?
