When the citizenry, the plebeian peasants as an entire class, receive access to technology invented by the military and ruling class, they tend to weaken the technology they so stole. The weakness of invention can be tracked with ease--the warrior invents the axe to fight off barbarians, the lumberjack shrinks its head to fell lumber; the archer invents the bow and arrow to slay monsters, the hunter shrinks the arrowhead to poach their lord's deer; the soldier creates the spear to defend his country, the fisherman snaps it in half and stabs fish; the king invents the castle, and the citizen devolves it into a house. It is only through the grace of our Masters, the omnipotent Red Wizards of Thay, that magic is kept in the hands of the powerful and away from the commoners to weaken it as the tools of war have been weakened.

To whom it may concern,

On the next tenday from when you receive this letter, a memorial shall be held for the venerable Lord Vermillion. He fell in combat defending his beloved Thayan homeland against the wicked scourge of the Harpers, and his memory shall live on forever.

*With a big X through it*

To whom it may concern...
Funeral for a horse. You're invited. Next Tenday. Bring booze.

//If you receive a tell from me, just RP that the indicated character was there.

*The newest drawing from the desk of Sgt Maximilian is a sketch of a fishing pole and two bottles of beer, with one half-empty, resting on the wall of one of the bridges over the Lapendrar river. In the distance, one can see Nethwatch Keep. At the bottom is the following caption:*
The fishing pole, a derivative of the warrior's spear, became obsolete when the warrior invented nets to capture enemies. Anachronisms, however, still prove challenging and stimulating to use.

*All references to Sgt Svarog being a member of the Lapendrar Legion have been rewritten to say "Guard of Amruthar", with the original documents burnt and their ashes in a drawer of his desk.*

Fig 1
*A sketch of Max's slave, Alyisse, wearing her usual dress, cloak, swords, and collar*
Fig 2
*A sketch of the same slave, with green buds in her hair, which is longer than the last sketch*
Fig 3
*The buds have blossomed into black lotus flowers in this sketch*
Fig 4
*The black lotus flowers are in full bloom and significantly larger*
Fig 5
*The black lotus flowers are drawn twice as large as they would ever grow.*
Fig 6
*The flowers have now obscured the face, weapons, and outfit of the slave.*
Fig 7
*This just a sketch of black lotus flowers.*

What do you call a harpy slave?
A kite that costs one hundred twenty-five talons.

To whom it may concern:

Let it be known that the enslaved elf carrying this letter, Alyisse Svarog, property of Maximilian Svarog, Sergeant of the Amruthar Guard, shall travel freely and unmolested throughout the Lapendrar Tharch or while carrying out a task in any other Tharch of Thay for her master or mistress, Maximilian and Amalia respectively. While this slave is in either the presence of Maximilian, Amalia, or Marister, she should not be assaulted or impeded. To assault this slave, steal this letter, or harass her in any way is not only theft from her master but an outright attack on Amruthar and the Lapendrar Tharch.

Signed,
Maximilian
Sergeant, guardsman of Amruthar
