im trying to make a monk assassin, and cant decide what order to be in. I'm thinking long death or iron fist. I'm not to keen on having any deity with this character(RP reasons), and i will want to take assassination missions from the red wizards if they wish to hire this character (from what i can tell long death are not to keen on working with the reds, correct me if I'm wrong).

any info about long death and/or iron fist wold be helpful and much appreciated, as well as any internet sours(i tried Googling both orders but ro real specific info, such as what are there standings in thay, there relationship with red wizards, there behavior, culture, etc).

thank you for your reply i do appreciate it, but yes i did look at it(to tell you the truth i know really little about monks and am trying my hardest to learn more) and it did give me a beginning plateau to learn about monk orders. but now i am looking for information that is more detailed and more in depth particularly in thay about long death and iron fist. i will continue looking on the internet for information also but pleas if any one has more information (or a source about it. ie, a internet link) i wold appreciate it a lot.

I've looked around for detailed info on monk orders in the past and it's very difficult to find. The sourcebook Lords of Darkness probably has the most information anywhere you're going to find on the monks of the long death (which is only about 2 pages).

The monks of the Long Death were originally based in calimshan and moved to the Lake of Steam after being pushed out. They don't really care which deity of holds the portfolio of death, they just care about death. They often disguise themselves as beggars to more easily waylay and kill people. If you have any specific questions I or someone else with the book might be able to help you out.

Thay doesn't really have much in the way of monks so any monk you create will likely have to have been nationalized into Thayan culture.
