NPC XP.

Why keep them low? To encourage RP? Note that I'm not ranting about the low XP or am complaining against it but isn't adventuring part of roleplaying? Maybe not overly buff the XP given. Just give it a slight oompf.

Which npc xp are you talking about? The stuff you get from finding out stuff/discussing religion with random ones?
"Survival of the fittest and the winnowing of the weak are Malar's Legacy. A brutal, bloody death or kill has great meaning. The crux of life is the challenge between the hunter and the prey, the determination of who lives or dies. View every important task as a hunt. Remain ever alert and alive."

I think we talk about XP for killing critters - I'm fine with most of the system with a few exceptions. One being those damn Jellys :P killing them is a nuisance even on mid-lvl when spawning sometimes four of them and getting 1 XP...

I do hate those jellies. XP for kills seems to be fairly generous until level eight or nine, at which point it does seem to drop off considerably. Of course, that might very well be the intention.

the problem with the jellies is that when they split each smaller one is a low CR and the game bases xp on CR vs PC level. to work around that try useing non physical attacks on the jellies such as a Rod of frost. when the bigger jelly dies he will hand out his Higher CR reward.

But yes i agree When the jellies split and swarm they are a pain. but in essence it is still just one creature even if it has 6 bodies each small jelly is 1 xp so all together it netted you 6 xp which is less than you woulda got by killing the bigger version. But if you think about it, combat XP should be handed out by defeating your foe tactfully, and causeing your foe to split into smaller ones isnt that smart. I'd rather fight one big jellie with 50 hp than 6 jellies with 12 each. (just a point not a quote on the HP on the enimies)
