Default NWN Spell modifications
Many default NWN Spells in Thay have been modified to try and promote game balance between the caster classes and the non-caster classes due to the uniqueness of the Thay PW setting. Therefore, when planning or playing a caster character such as a wizard or cleric, please note the following details in regard to spell modifications.


General Notes on Spell Modifications
- Spells in Thay have been modified based on D&D 3.5 changes and observing gameplay in our low-mid magic PW setting
- Spells modified to affect PC Vampires can be found by reviewing this thread or typing the following while in-game: !vampire
- Spells modified to affect PC Liches can be found by reviewing this thread or typing the following while in-game: !lich
- Spells modified for PC Lycanthropy can be found by reviewing this thread or typing the following while in-game: !lycan


Miscellaneous Spell Changes
- Ability enhancing spells, such as Bull's Strength and Cat's Grace, provide a +4 bonus to their respective ability
- Charm spells may be used on NPCs to improve their personal reaction to you
- Darkfire grants +1d6 fire damage to a melee weapon
- Flame Weapon grants +1d6 fire damage to a melee weapon
- Flesh to Stone spells and monster abilities last 1 minute per caster level, or a PC can Respawn if they do not want to wait
- Greater Magic Weapon, and Magic Vestment, both provide a +1 bonus every 4 caster levels
- Greater Restoration can cure drug addiction
- Harm and Heal will harm or heal up to a maximum of 150 hit points. Heal can also cure a drug addiction
- Knock will unlock the nearest locked door, locked container, or shackles on a NPC slave
- Raise Dead and Resurrection may be cast on NPC corpses. They may also be cast on the corpse item a PC will drop on death. If the dead PC is logged in they will be brought back from the Fugue Plain
- If a Cleric worships one of the four elemental gods, Summon Creature spells will only create elemental creatures appropriate to that god
- True Seeing allows an individual to notice secret doors hidden by magic, and see through Darkness, Sanctuary, Invisibility, and Illusions
- Turn Undead for evil clerics and blackguards will either rebuke (stun) or command (dominate) affected creatures, rather than turn them

Spell Material Component Requirement
Raise Dead and Resurrection spells require material components for casting. Other spells in the following list require a material component only when scribing them to a scroll, crafting a wand, or brewing a potion.

-Mordenkainens Disjunction requires a Dragon's Eye

Updated here and in-game as of 1/23/15 -
Continual Light lasts for 24 hours to finally address/end a common exploit used with this spell.
Greater Magic Weapon, and Magic Vestment, both provide a +1 bonus every 4 caster levels.
In addition, elemental protection spells have been reverted back to default NWN implementation, with the exception that Endure Elements and Protection from Elements last 1 turn (minute) per level (rather than 24 hours) just as the other two elemental protection spells.
